Shleep uses only 17.5 micron and below Australian Merino wool — the softest grade available, and far finer than what most brands use. We don’t just use Merino. We use only the highest-performing fibre and engineer it through our proprietary Shleep Halo™ fabric innovation. Our fabrics are built to deliver natural stretch, thermoregulation, breathability, moisture wicking, skin sensitivity, and machine washability — designed specifically for sleep, skin health, and daily comfort.
Micron is a scientific measure of fibre diameter. The lower the micron, the softer and finer the wool.
- Shleep uses 17.5 micron and below — luxury-grade, next-to-skin soft.
- Wool above 20 microns can feel coarse or itchy.
- If a brand doesn’t disclose the micron count, it’s usually because the fibre is lower grade.
We’re transparent because our Merino meets the highest softness and performance standard — and you’ll feel the difference.
Not at all. Our ultra-fine Merino is light, breathable , and silky-soft. It’s engineered to be irritation-free, even for sensitive skin.
No. Shleep Merino is thermoregulating, which means it cools you when hot and warms you when cold. It adapts to your body, making it ideal for year-round sleep and wear.
Australia produces the world’s most consistent supply of ultra-fine Merino, with decades of global leadership in fibre refinement and grading. New Zealand Merino is often coarser (typically above 20 microns) and better suited to outerwear. For softness, sleep, and skin health, Australian Merino is the gold standard — and we source only the best.
ShleepHalo™ is our proprietary textile system that transforms ultra-fine Merino into high- performance, skin-smart fabrics. Engineered for sleep and skin health, it enhances the fibre’s natural properties:
- Natural stretch without synthetics
- Advanced breathability and moisture control
- Machine washability
- Low-friction contact for sensitive skin and hair
Yes. Our wool is ethically and humanely sourced from trusted Australian farms. Sheep are not harmed — they’re sheared seasonally, in a process similar to a haircut, to keep them healthy and cool.
Most items are machine washable on a gentle wool cycle using cold water and a mild wool detergent. We recommend air drying. Our fabrics are naturally antibacterial, moisture wicking, and odour resistant, so they stay fresher longer and require fewer washes than cotton or synthetics.
Always check the care label for product-specific instructions.
Yes — Shleep builds on findings from independent studies commissioned by The Woolmark Company, which show that fine Merino wool worn on or slept under can:
- Help people fall asleep faster
- Increase deep sleep, particularly in warm conditions
- Reduce nighttime wake-ups by improving thermal regulation
We translate these benefits across our entire product system — from bedding and sleepwear to socks and beauty accessories — using our exclusive Shleep Halo™ fabrics.
Yes — but not in the traditional sense. Shleep defines luxury as how something feels, performs, and endures. We use the world’s finest fibres, engineered for comfort, recovery, and wellbeing — and we deliver products that make every day and every night feel better.
